Message from the
DISTRICT GOVERNOR 2016-2017 It is an amazing feeling and great pleasure to assume the honor of Rotary District Governor of a nascent District of the Rotary world. This became possible due to the Rotarians of my District who elected me as their Governor and entrusted me with the responsibility of leading the District during the year 2016-17. I sincerely offer my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to them all. Rotary is an International organization of men and women joined together for the cause of humanity. We all are working voluntarily to see this planet smile. We want to see our world free from poverty, diseases, illiteracy and conflicts. Our world leader John F. Germ declared Rotary Serving Humanity as his theme to engage more for the cause of mankind. Rotarians are great people, they think high and provide their valuable service expecting nothing in return. I am confident Rotarians in my District will come forward with the call of our world leader to serve their best to the distressed of our surrounding community. During the preparatory period of different training programs with my All-Star Team we have repeatedly discussed on the goals for the year 2016-17. Once again, I remind my fellow Rotarians to work keeping the District vision in mind. The District goal is a target and we should achieve that with our well thought activities and dedication. To work for furthering Rotary image is also the responsibility of a Rotarian. Lots of innovative things are being done to enhance Rotary image worldwide. Publication of District Directory is also such an effort. It is an important document which contains the information of Rotarians and the District but to bring it to light is obviously a daunting and challenging task. A thought-provoking in nature Rtn. PP Lt. Col. (Rtd.) M. Ataur Rahman Pir volunteered himself for this tough job. I extend my sincere appreciation and gratitude to Colonel Pir and his team for accomplishing the task. Finally, I thank my All-Star Team whom I find so dedicated and enthusiastic starting right from Inspiration to DTTS, PETS, SETS & TETS, Grants Management Seminar, District Training Assembly and the District Membership Seminar. All those programs were very rich in quality, educative & informative with full of fun & fellowship and were well attended. I wish this spontaneity will continue amongst the Rotarians of the District till the last day of my tenure. God bless us all and looking forward to enjoy a prosperous Rotary year 2016-17.
